When did your head become encased and all your thoughts carry a blade?
When you always had the world to gain
You chose to stand with your legs in chains
We are all born with open hearts
I see a scorn that makes them rot
All we can hope is you change enough
To leave this life knowing you betrayed us
It’s like the blind leading the blind through a maze of narrow minds
You stand for nothing
The forgotten youth will pay for your sins
And in spite of this
Just stand for nothing
The forgotten youth will pay for your sins
For nothing
We’ll make sure you raise your hand for this mess you made
‘Cause you failed to see a future beyond the grave
Every time you close your eyes and count to ten
There will be no difference when you open them
It’s like the blind leading the blind through a maze of narrow minds
Us, you betrayed us
You stand for nothing
The forgotten youth will pay for your sins
And in spite of this
Just stand for nothing
The forgotten youth will pay for your sins
For nothing

This album hits like a ton of bricks. I can't say how long it's been since a band reached me like this, but I can't get enough. The driving rhythm, the ghostly floating leads, the haunting and direct lyrics, the desperation in her voice... Powerful. Jaycee

I generally appreciate the album by album move away from hardcore towards extreme metal. Yet for me personally, this is where the balance is perfect. Kind of like Metallica's Ride the Lightning: subsequent albums were more sophisticated and complex, yet less intense, too. Great to come back to, again and again. jornfin
